SyncThink Announces Key Additions to Clinical Advisory Board

SyncThink, a next gen neurotechnology company and developer of the award-winning EYE-SYNC technology, announces today the expansion of its clinical advisory board and the creation of a specific advisory panel of Physical Therapy providers, to assist the company with growing product demand and market opportunities. As new members of the advisory board and long-term users and supporters of the EYE-SYNC technology Erin Isanhart, Thomas Pianta, Bobby Jean Lee, and Chelsea Ortega will work closely with the company to create awareness within the physical therapy profession, support new product development efforts, and serve as ambassadors to other providers in healthcare and sports. These new physical therapy advisors will join current advisors and physical therapists Lenore Herget of Massachusetts General Hospital and Marie Boo of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team.

Erin Isanhart PT, DPT, NCS studied at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences in 2004 and obtained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. She earned her competency certification in vestibular therapy at Emory University in 2010. In 2014, she became a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist. She has been working with individuals recovering from neurologic and vestibular disorders since the commencement of her professional career at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Erin continued her work at Stanford Health Care where she was involved in the establishment of the Stanford Concussion Clinic from 2014 to 2019. She was recently appointed as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Physical Therapy. Erin is currently the owner of Angular Momentum Physical Therapy and is a consultant to the San Francisco 49ers to assist in the recovery of players in post-concussion protocol. Erin will be working closely with the company to support the development of new vestibular based clinical applications, among other activities. “I am excited to become a part of SyncThink’s team! As a member of the team, I will be assisting SyncThink in its presentation of new products which will be geared specifically for physical therapists,” said Dr. Isanhart. “Their technology is not only going to elevate current patient care, but it will also change the game regarding patient engagement.”
Tom Pianta, MPT is a physical therapist with over 30 years of experience in clinical neuroscience, healthcare quality improvement, clinical trial management, and healthcare administration. Tom’s background includes leading the technical assessment oversight of multiple international clinical trials in ALS; being elected President of the Maryland Stroke Network Quality Improvement Committee; and being appointed to membership on the Maryland Governor’s Advisory Group on diabetes and stroke. Tom has led a Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organization, and multiple contracts with a Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for improving diabetes care and reducing readmissions in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Tom received his BS in Psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1986, and his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Emory University School of Medicine in 1990. Tom will be working closely with the SyncThink executive team on healthcare market strategy.Bobby Jean Lee, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, SCS, OCS, CSCS, USAW is a Physical Therapy Clinical Specialist at Texas Health Sports Medicine (THSM) and Texas Christian University Athletics Department (TCU). She is the Clinical Outcomes Research Clinician and Team Lead for the Concussion Management Program at THSM. She is also Co-Owner of Clinic to Field Physical Therapy, a continuing education company specializing in Concussion Management. She graduated from California Lutheran University in 2011 with a B.S. in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine and Duke University in 2014 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She then completed a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at Ben Hogan Sports Medicine and a Manual Therapy Fellowship Program through the Institute for Athlete Regeneration (IAR). Bobby teaches as part of the Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Residency Programs at THSM and is faculty for the IAR Manual Therapy Fellowship. She is the current Vice Chair for the Concussion SIG for the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy. Bobby has been published in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited as a speaker at numerous local, state, and national conferences in sports medicine.

Further, I look forward to utilizing our emerging technology in the application of patient evaluation, treatment, the development of protocols, and provider education. The innovation and vision of SyncThink will aid in the advancement of the physical therapy profession in the technical age.” Chelsea Ortega PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS is a board-certified sports physical therapist and Regional Director at Evolution Physical Therapy and Fitness. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Sciences from UCLA in 2011 where she competed in NCAA Division I Rowing. Chelsea earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2015 from Duke University while also becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She completed her Sports Physical Therapy Residency at Ben Hogan Sports Medicine in 2016 and became a Board-Certified Sports Specialist in 2017. Over the years, Chelsea has worked with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes from a variety of sports including football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse. She specializes in concussion rehabilitation as well as return to sport activities. Chelsea served as the Physical Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Coach for the WNBA Las Vegas Aces for the 2021 Season and currently serves as a physical therapist and brain health specialist for the Premier Lacrosse League. Chelsea enjoys working with athletes and is passionate about bridging the gap between rehabilitation and sports performance. She has presented and taught at national conferences and is the Co-Owner of Clinic to Field Physical Therapy, a continuing education platform focusing on Concussion Education. Chelsea will be supporting the growth and expansion of EYE-SYNC products and services toward new market opportunities in sports and rehabilitation environments while also creating awareness through education and research. These providers join Kristin Steenerson, MD, Gordon Matheson MD, PhD, Jeffrey Kutcher MD, and Maya Yutsis, PhD as other current clinical SyncThink advisors, and Steve Young, Taylor Twellman, and Coby Fleener as current athlete advisors.
