In an effort to cater to the growing needs of the Indian market and improve access to diabetes care, Roche Diabetes Care India (RDC India) has begun manufacturing its Accu-Chek Active blood glucose monitoring device in India. The company has partnered with Sanmina-SCI India Pvt. Ltd. for manufacturing and Parekh Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd. (PISPL) for assembly and distribution.
Sanmina’s Chennai-based manufacturing facility will produce the Accu-Chek Active meters, ensuring the brand’s globally approved quality standards are maintained. The new product packs will feature the ‘Made in India’ tag, emphasizing the company’s commitment to the local market. RDC India expects this move to reduce time to market, make Accu-Chek Active meters more accessible to the growing number of people with diabetes in the country, and help the company reduce its carbon footprint.
The first batch of locally manufactured Accu-Chek Active meters is already available across the country. RDC India has been a pioneer in integrated personalized diabetes management (iPDM) products and solutions through their Accu-Chek range of blood glucose monitoring systems for over four decades.
Omar Sherief Mohammad, Cluster Head – India Middle East and Africa, RDC, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, saying, “We are excited to announce the manufacturing of Accu-Chek Active meters in India in partnership with Sanmina. For 125 years, sustainability has been a crucial part of Roche’s business. This move aligns with our commitment to improve access to diabetes care by shortening our time to market and becoming more sustainable in our operations by reducing our carbon footprint.”
