Orbis and PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital Unveil Green Vision Center in Maharashtra

Orbis and PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital have teamed up to inaugurate the Green Vision Center (GVC) in Satara, Maharashtra. The aim of the center is to provide communities with quality optical services and primary eye care, while at the same time promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. The GVC is equipped with clean solar-powered electricity, energy efficient electrical fixtures and appliances, and digital data management, representing a pioneering approach towards combining sustainability with eye care.

The GVC is an essential connection to the community, and its digital data management software helps improve patient care and patient data management. The availability of real-time data ensures better planning and response from stakeholders and government. Dr Rishi Raj Borah, Country Director – India, Orbis International, states, “With the Green Vision Centers, we offer a new approach that can transform the way we provide primary eye care, bringing eye health services closer to the communities and sustaining the impact delivered.” The launch of the GVC in Maharashtra marks a significant milestone in the longstanding partnership between PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital and Orbis, which has been critical in providing ophthalmic treatments to communities in the region
